Engines that have come to define brands #blogpost

The first one, and arguably the most iconic, is Ferrari’s big V12. Almost every Ferrari has a V12 and rightfully so. V12s are, by far some of the best sounding and performing engines. Sure, they’re big and heavy but hey, you wouldn’t complain if a F12 Berlinetta showed up on your doorstep?

Yes. You see that correctly. A Prius. Before you get your pitch forks, saying, “TEH SUPRA SIX IS BETTUR TEHN DIS”, hehe, you’d be wrong… kinda… Well, this engine has really come to define Toyota. Why? How many Supras have been sold? Mmmm, a large number but relatively small when it comes to cars… Now how many Prii (plural or Prius) have been made? A wholedanglot that’s how many. And anyways why are Prii hated among car people? Sure, it’s not sporty but that was never the point. It was made to get from point A to B quietly, efficiently, and comfortably. And on the fact that it doesn’t look good. Beauty is in the eye of the foreseer.

The Porsche Flat six

Engines that have come to define brands #blogpost

Now this one is rightfully deserved. The 911 has never been produced without it’s legendary flat six. And I mean every Porsche 911…. Though I’m not counting the Flat 4 that was in the 912…. But the flat 6 has gone through many a changes. Starting aircooled and small and now it’s big, turbocharged, water cooled, and filled with many a new technology. Oh, and 9,000 rpm redlines…. So yes, it sounds good.

And that was that article. Sorry for it ending so shortly, as I’m being bombarded with homework and the such. Well,I’ll try and spicen up CT with some more posts soon ;)

Lamborghini is also famed for it’s V12 engined cars. From the iconic Miura tot today’s Aventador they all got n/a V12’s. Even before the Miura they had a couple of GT models that had a V12 engine in it. And let’s not forget the Espada and the LM002 which also had V12’s on board.

The Gallardo, Jalpa, and Urraco didn’t have V12s, though. But I agree, Lamborghini is well-known for their V12s.

McLaren 3.8L V8? Only engine they’ve ever used (apart from the F1, which wasn’t technically their engine).

The 3.8 technically isn’t their own either. They purchased the design of Nissan’s VRH35 engine, though they’ve made a fair few changes
