An Even More Hardcore Ford GT Supercar Is On The Way

The factory Ford GT racing programme may have drawn to a close, but it seems the Blue Oval isn’t done with the road-going version of the supercar just yet.
The company has revealed a darkened teaser image, promising to make “a special Ford GT supercar announcement” during a Goodwood Festival of Speed press conference at 0945 on 4 July.
No further details are given, but judging by the big wing on the back of the GT depicted in the image, we can take an educated guess or two.

It’ll almost certainly be an even more focused version of the already hardcore GT road car. If Ford has gone particularly extreme with this latest version of the supercar, it might even be a track-only affair.
Expect a stiffer setup for the MultiMatic DSSV shocks, a bump in power for the 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6, and a sizeable increase in downforce thanks to that rear wing, which will no doubt be joined by other aero additions.
Production numbers will inevitably be extremely limited - Ford has capped the standard GT at only 1350 units.

Bet John Cena can’t wait to sell this one
Will it be called the Ford GT R? That would make it even more confusing with the Nissan GT-R and the Mercedes-AMG GT R.
A more hardcore version of the Ford GT….are they planning on releasing a Hoonigan edition with an GT-Pro spec engine with no ACO nannies on it with 900bhp?
Big wing ;o
That silhouette looks a lot like the ford gte race car, could we be getting a road going gt track monster?
I👏🏻cannot👏🏻wait👏🏻
Can’t wait for Goodwood. #GoodwoodFestivalOfSpeed
Gt3 car?
Half expect it to be called the GT E, and have somewhere in the neighbourhood of 700hp
