Fast And Furious 9 Will Revive The Orange Toyota Supra
If you still feel the hole in your youth left by Paul Walker’s tragic early death, now might be a good time to sit down.
The ninth instalment of the Fast & Furious cinema franchise has been spotted filming in Georgia. No, not the American state; we mean the country sandwiched between Russia and Turkey on the east of the Black Sea.
But what makes this particularly intriguing is the day-glo orange car that’s been spotted in the mix: an A90 Toyota GR Supra painted in what seems to be the same shade as the iconic A80 Supra driven by much-missed character Brian O’Conner in the first outing of the franchise some 18 years ago.
Several posts have emerged on Instagram thanks to user pw40, who was able to film some behind-the-scenes clips of some of the stunts that will feature in the movie. There are also a couple of photos of the Supras being used, one of which has a special heavy-duty frame at the rear to enable it to be towed by what looks like a pickup- or SUV-based armoured personnel carrier.
Among the other cars on show are a black Dodge Charger, because of course, and also a black-striped silver beast suspected to be a classic Chevrolet Nova.
There’s zero doubt in our minds that the orange Supra is there to evoke memories of Walker and his first foray into the global petrolhead consciousness. Why it’s being done is another matter. Will Mia, Brian O’Conner’s significant other, get behind the wheel of this one? Is the studio attempting to revive the O’Conner character? We’ll have to wait and see.

Suck my gay
If they want to make the Supra popular again they should carefully modify the hell out of it in this movie.
If Toyota doesn’t want to be in the new Need for Speed game because it “encourages illegal street racing” then explain this.
Universal after Tokyo drift: We introduced a whole car culture to all who watch, let’s make the movies about heists and killing people instead of street racing now!
Me: bro, wtf.
