Feast Your Eyes On This CT-Inspired Aston Rapide Shooting Brake

Prepare your trousers for a tenting: it's an Aston Martin shooting brake...

It seems the fashionistas at Bertone get their kicks from Car Throttle, because following in the tyre smoke of our Toyota GT86 Shooting Brake mock-up, the Italians have come up with this stunning version of the four-door Rapide to celebrate Aston Martin’s 100th birthday.

Not a bad present, you’d argue. Alright, so from the side the Rapide Bertone Jet 2+2 looks almost as long and awkward as its own name, but from any other angle it’s as delicious as one of Gordon Ramsey’s roast dinners.

Unbelievably the special edition, which you’ll see at the Geneva Motor Show next month, was actually commissioned by an Aston collector. You suspect ‘wealthy’ doesn’t even scratch the surface.

Bertone effectively bent the original C-pillars upwards to continue the roof until it reached a new set of struts rising from that pert little rump.

And just for that added shooting brake practicality, the rear seats can be folded down to create a very, very expensive van. Just what every tradesman wants for Christmas.

As per form with the classier styling houses Bertone has left the Aston’s underwear untouched, so you get a 476bhp V12 under the bonnet and two extremely fat but equally unfortunate tyres at the back that some lucky beggar will no doubt light up as soon as the Geneva show closes.

We give this shooting brake a massive thumbs up. Agree?
