If it was for the “halo” Alonso wouldn’t be able to get out so easily. He would need to wait for the marshalls or even a crane and it could be too late.

why would it be too late? as button also said, there was no reason for alonso to leave the car in a hurry. the only way that would be the case is if the car catches fire because of leaking fuel, which with current technologies is extremely rare.

I was there when it happened. I cannot express the fear in all of the people there, we honestly thought that no one could survive that.

I can’t even imagine. The tv feed wasn’t all that scary at first because they didn’t show it live. At first they didn’t even know Alonso’s car was there, there were just showing the Hass car in the gravel and then they spotted Alonso walking away from the car. So as soon as we knew about it, we knew he was ok.

I can imagine it was pretty scary. Where were you sat? Just glad Gutierrez’s car didn’t roll, could have done the same.

Poor Alonso, the size and weight of those eyebrows meant that car was always going to flip.
