The Fiat 500L Vans Concept Is The Only Way To Combine Your Love Of Shoes, Cars And Surfing
On the off chance that you like Vans shoes, surfing and Italian family cars, Fiat has just the motor for you! In a rather odd tie-up created to celebrate the 2014 Vans US Open of Surfing, Fiat has taken its rather bloated 500L hatchback and given it a yoof makeover, taking inspiration from the US shoemaker’s products.
The exterior has a three tone colour scheme, with a blue upper section (complete with a roof decked out in Vans’ classic checkerboard pattern), a white middle part, and lots of tough black plastic cladding at the bottom. The roof also features a rack for your surfboards, obviously.
On the inside, the dashboard has been sticker bombed, and the pedals have even been finished in a waffle pattern similar to what you’d find on the sole of a Vans shoe. Under the bonnet, there’s a 1.4-litre turbocharged four-pot kicking out 160bhp.
Fancy taking a look at this curious shoe/car mashup in the metal? It’s on display until 3 August at Huntington Beach, California, which hosts the surfing event.
