The first F1 2016 game details and pictures have now been released, with Codemasters sharing a number of juicy snippets about the up-coming racing title.

The new game is set to hit the real and virtual shelves this summer for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC and will feature “the most immersive career mode” ever featured.

The new career mode will feature a whopping 10 seasons and adds exciting elements both on and off track to improve the overall realism, including hospitality areas that will act as the game hub.

Mercedes’ beautiful AMG GT S safety car returns to the F1 game franchise and the new Virtual Safety Car (VSC) will be incorporated for the first time. Meanwhile, players will have the chance to choose their own avatar, race number and create a helmet design for their 2016 game career.

Gamers will have the chance to choose any team to start their career mode with, but each will have different expectations. A cool new feature is being able to choose at which time the races run (sunrise or sunset, for example), and the new Baku street track circuit, as well as the Haas F1 team is included in the game.

Lee Mather, principal games designer at Codemasters, said on the game:

“F1 2016 is a massive step forward for the franchise. The new career mode sits at the heart of the game and allows gamers to create their own legend over a career that can span for up to a massive ten seasons.
“Beyond improving upon the fastest and most thrilling on-track racing experience in gaming, F1 2016 uniquely offers the drama and vehicle development that goes on behind the scenes. A rich car upgrade system is fully integrated into a new and deep practice development programme which mirrors the tests carried out by the teams in real life.
“The career mode, together with the re-introduction of the safety car, the first inclusion of the Virtual Safety Car and a number of other unannounced improvements means that F1 2016 will have more new features than any other year of the franchise.”

Wouldn’t buy a game from Codemasters again. They just rehash last year’s game with some minor UI tweaks.

Well, that is a winner recipe. Forza have tried refreshing things since the change of consoles, and we can’t say that they have been sucessfull

Yeah, but if you have a yearly realsed game they often just get better and better. And if there maybe was one thing who was missed, it can be included next year. Yearly releases isn’t a reason to slack of a game in itself. And for this franchise it works well

If codemasters do it like they did on Dirt Rally, put some actual effort into it
This is going to be a good game but we never know

I think this is a huge step forward. 2015 was very barebones, but I think it was just Codies trying to put a good base down which is why 2015 was so stripped back. The handling was quite good and with career mode back there’s reason to play again. Being able to change race numbers is a nice touch too. Safety car is back too which is nice.
