The First Pokemon Go Car Crash Has Already Happened

If you’ve perused any form of social media in the last few days, the chances are you’ll have had Pokemon Go well and truly smothered all over your face. In case you don’t know, it’s an augmented reality game where users walk around IRL, catching virtual Pokemon as they go, which would be a great idea if it wasn’t for the fact the human race is populated by vast quantities of stupid.
Case in point? The driver of the wrecked car above, who crashed into a tree in Auburn, New York on Tuesday night. When police arrived at the scene, he admitted he’d become distracted behind the wheel while playing a game of Pokemon Go, and swerved into the tree. Presumably while trying to catch a Squirtle, whatever that is.
Amazingly, the 28-year-old was uninjured, but Auburn police have felt the need to release some “advice” for virtual Pokemon catchers, including the following points:
Don’t play the game while driving a car or bicycle.
Don’t trespass on private property just to “catch” a Pokemon.
Avoid staring down at your phone and be aware of hazards like roadways, drop-offs and waterways.
If we’re in a world where such tips are needed, God help us all.

My Fiance and I often take walks at night. Since the release of Pokemon Go, we’ve ended up walking further, in order to catch more Pokemon and hit the local Pokestops. This has led to seeing interesting things, such as someone so intent on driving to all the pokestops they never realized they had their lights off at 10:30pm. I don’t know why, but some people’s obsession with this app has caused them to completely forgo common sense.
The real question here is, did he actually get the squirtle??
Pokemon NO!
Catch them all? More like CRASH them all.
This is why I don`t play Pokemon.
Someone in Quebec City, Canada backed up in a police car trying to catch a Pokemon. He never noticed the police car that was following him to give him a ticket for a road safety code infraction…
Talk about a fail.

Let the stupid be stupid and eventually we will have less stupid and be better off….
But the stupid breed in multiple quantities…
Feels great to be a PC/Console gamer!
You should not play games while driving. EVER !
