This Is The Fisker EMotion, And It'll Be Here By 2019
Fisker is back. With Fisker Automotive - the firm behind the plug-in hybrid Karma sports car - having gone bust in 2014, legendary car designer Henrik Fisker is having another stab at creating a futuristic sports car with this: the EMotion.
It’s set to be built Fisker Inc - a company set up in 2016 - and unlike the Karma, this one will be fully electric. It was previewed by a concept first seen last year, and now we’re getting an early look at the production version courtesy of a bunch of teasers dropped by the newly established company.
Fisker also revealed that the car will be priced from $129,900, and will be here in 2019. The company is promising a range of more than 400 miles, a top speed of 161mph and a lidar system.
Of particular note are the EMotion’s wheels, developed in partnership with Dymag. They’re made from a blend of aluminium and carbonfibre, helping reduce rotational mass by 40 per cent. The use of carbonfibre in wheel construction is something we should be seeing much more of in the coming years.
From what we can see in the teaser images, the production version has predictably been toned down a little compared to the concept, but it still looks to be pretty wild. What do you think?
