Fisker Signs Up 37 Retailers

Take that, naysayers! I can hear Fisker saying it now. While it's too early to declare victory, the company keeps moving along and advancing toward it's goals. Further proof comes by it's success in signing up dealers for it's new Karma sedan.

Take that, naysayers! I can hear Fisker saying it now. While it's too early to declare victory, the company keeps moving along and advancing toward it's goals. Further proof comes by it's success in signing up dealers for it's new Karma sedan.

Thirty-two dealers ("retailers" in Fisker's terminology) in 17 states have signed up to sell the Karma. You might remember the company set a goal for 40 dealers by June 2009. Looks like they're well on their way to achieving that goal, and that's an impressive feat!

Each one has experience in selling premium automobiles, and that experience will be invaluable in delivering the kind of experience Fisker's customers will require.

I'm glad to see California will be well-served as well (Test drives? I've GOT to do one!) with 7 different locations in the state alone. You can tell they're counting on California big time to help them achieve their sales goal of 15,000 units per year.

That's the goal; as far as I heard though they can hit profitability anywhere above 4000 vehicles. Not bad! That's a nice interior too, very sporty.

The new dealers are said to be eco-friendly, built with sustainable materials. An smart approach I think, helping to set it apart from other automakers and definitely a different approach then the one taken by taken by bitter-rival Tesla.

Part of the success in attracting these retail partners comes from Fisker's Vic Doolan, who successfully worked in senior executive and sales positions at BMW, Volvo and Ford's Premier Automotive Group (PAG). As President of Volvo Cars America, he helped lead them to record sales in the United States and Mexico.

Definitely a guy you want to have on your team! Maybe he can help put Fisker on the map as well.
