Ford Is Making Another 350 GT Supercars To Satisfy Incredible Demand
When Ford opened up the application process for the Ford GT, some 6500 people tried to put their name down. With a production run of just 1000, though, the vast majority were destined to be disappointed.
The good news for anyone still wanting a GT is that Ford has just announced it’ll make an additional 350 cars. Previously, production was supposed to wrap up in 2020, but now Ford will continue to build the supercar - which is very much a racing car for the road - until 2022.
Ford will be taking applications “for select global markets” for the 30 days following 8 November at FordGT.com. Anyone who unsuccessfully supplied last time around will need to “confirm or modify their original application,” Ford said.
Speaking about the increased run, Ford Performance boss Hermann Salenbauch said: “The response to our Ford GT has been unprecedented…By extending the Ford GT production run for a limited period, we’re able to maintain the exclusivity of the ultra-desirable supercar while offering the ownership experience to a greater number of customers.”
Successful punters will need to stump up a cool $450,000 for the 3.5-litre V6-powered carbonfibre machine.
The vast majority of Ford GTs produced so far were recently recalled due to a possible fire risk caused by leaking hydraulic fluid from the rear wing assembly.

Don’t let this distract us from the leaked GT500
Nice, but the Ford GT still on another level
I honestly don’t understand why they kept the pre-facelift front end on the car.
But I sure do hope they do it for the 2019 Camaro ZL1
Why does the front end look like an evo?
The question now arises: will Ford catch Pagani-itis? Continuing to build a car that’s been out of production for about half a decade but keep building it because people love it
Don’t think they would.
Ford isn’t THAT niche
Hopefully this means it’ll stick around in WEC and IMSA for a few more years as well
It is limited production and then they say they will build even more.. The price just went down 👇
Meanwhile their stocks keep dropping and experts are saying to not bother investing in ford, but sure put more money into this and electrifying the Mustang…. That will bring in investors…
