The Full Story Behind The Drunk Driver Who Confessed On YouTube To Killing A Man
Six months ago, drunk driver Matthew Cordle confessed on YouTube to killing Vincent Canzani in a head-on crash. He was driving on the wrong side of a highway at the time. The video - which you can watch again below - went viral (2.6m+ views) and Cordle was rightly sent down, despite telling us, the viewer, that his lawyers had hinted he could get off if he lied.
The details of the case, the events leading up to the crash and the making of the poignant video - simply titled "I killed a man" - have remained largely unreported, however. Until now.
Buzzfeed, self-proclaimed purveyors of 'the hottest, most social content on the web' has written an extensive piece which covers the entirety of the tragedy from beginning to end. It's a bit of a beast to read, but well worth spending time on if the video struck a chord with you last year.
Watch the video below, then head over to BuzzFeed for the full story.
