This FWD Hero DC5 Honda Integra Type-R Is Our Weekend Want

After our recent Integra Readers' Rides video, we've been lusting after DC5s

As you've gathered, it doesn't take much to send us scurrying off to the classifieds to look for cars. Today, the influence comes from our recent Readers' Rides video, which featured Freya and her modified DC5 Honda Integra Type-R.

It's a similar recipe to the celebrated DC2 Integra: a basic, stripped-back interior to give it a low weight figure, one of the finest front-wheel drive chassis ever made, and a punchy four-cylinder VTEC engine. Unlike its predecessor, though, the DC5 dropped the 1.8-litre B18 engine in favour of a newer 2.0-litre K20.

That brings the power up to a useful 220bhp from the B18's 187bhp. 0-62mph takes just over six seconds, while the top speed is 146mph. Impressive stats, but these cars are all about the fantastic driving experience. While the general consensus among Integra owners is that the DC2 is a touch sharper to drive, the DC5 is more comfortable, more modern-feeling and has more usable power.

With that in mind, it's the one to go for if this is going to be your only car. These are rare beasts, so there's never a huge amount of choice, but this one could be worth a punt. It's done 92,000 miles - a reasonable figure considering the age - has a full service history, and is up for £6450.
