The Geely Panda Knight Is Like An Even Tinier, Cuter Jimny

We’re getting strong Jimny vibes from the Panda Knight, but don’t expect it to come to Europe

As a general rule, smaller versions of things are more adorable. How else do you explain the average human’s reaction to seeing a puppy? When it hasn’t taken a dump on your new carpet, of course.

We love the Suzuki Jimny, as it’s like a smaller and therefore cuter take on cars like the Mercedes G-Class, but its levels of adorableness are entirely outclassed when compared to the even smaller Geely Geometry Panda Knight.

It’s a more rough and ready take on the Panda EV revealed last year, which is also under Geely's Geomtery sub-brand. Knight spec adds chunky front and rear bumpers, wheel arch cladding, a new, square ‘grille’ that goes nicely with the round light clusters, and even a ladder to reach the roof. And while the Jimny is about four metres long, the Panda Knight is only a little over three.

Despite the diminutive size, it’s a four-seater, although you’d best only have smaller children back there to avoid complaints. Handily, you can drop the rear bench to open up 800 litres of cargo capacity.

As well as only carrying smaller kids in the rear, you probably don’t want to cart around any heavy loads - the Panda Knight makes a paltry 40bhp and 81lb ft of torque from a single electric motor and a 17kWh battery pack. That combo makes for a range of up to 124 miles.

We haven’t seen any performance stats for the Panda Knight, but they’re likely to mirror those of the standard Panda. That means a top speed of 62mph. Doesn’t sound much, but hey, that’s a lot better than a Citroen Ami.

It’s well-appointed considering how much it’s expected to cost (probably not much more than £5,000, judging by the regular Panda), featuring an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment screen, a 9.2-inch digital instrument cluster, faux leather seats and air conditioning.

Before you ask, though, we’re not expecting this adorable little pretend off-roader to come to Europe.
