Geneva 2009: TECHART Automobildesign and Lumma-Design to Unveil New Offerings

Two of the wildest custom auto design houses based in Germany are about to debut two of their newest styling proposals at the Geneva Motor Show which opens up March 3rd. As with most of these creations, they present a case to either a love it or hate it.

Two of the wildest custom auto design houses based in Germany are about to debut two of their newest styling proposals at the Geneva Motor Show which opens up March 3rd. As with most of these creations, they present a case to either a love it or hate it. First up, the Lumma-Design BMW CLR X 650 GT.

This study is based on the already controversial BMW X6, and is adorned with several unique styling touches, including a new front bumper with a carbon fiber lip spoiler, wider fenders, side skirts, new rear bumper and a carbon fiber boot wing. Additionally, the roof is finished in a matt black color, and rides on 23-inch dual color alloy wheels shod in high performance tires with an eye popping size of 315/25-23. there are other special touches, which include a lowered suspension, upgrades to the X6's interior with performance-sports seats upholstered in leather and suede and a special steering wheel with a unique shift indicator display. Lumma-Design is based in Winterlingen, Germany.

Next up is the TECHART Magnum, which is also set to debut at the 2009 Geneva Show. This design study is based on the Porsche Cayenne SUV, and is restyled with a new front facia with integrated air ducts, double headlight unit, day driving system and front grill, fender extensions at the front and back, sill panels, tailgate cover and rear apron with diffuser optics. Inside, the Magnum comes with the exclusive de Sede of Switzerland range of interiors. The Magnum interior includes the finest quality leather and unique design of the de Sede company. The air-conditioned seats are a new feature. The innovative TECHART system ensures that the seats and back rests have always a pleasant temperature. According to their press release, the revised seat design emphasizes the sense of luxury sportiness.

Performance upgrades include the TECHART Sport air suspension module, lowering of car body by 30 mm for sporty street use, and can be raised to the highest level (special terrain level) with 110 mm of travel. The engine is now poised to produce 680 HP, and is dressed with TECHART Engine optics package in shiny carbon which consists of the cylinder head cover left and right with embossed TECHART logo, and an engine cover at front in carbon and red lacquer highlights. TECHART Automobildesign is based in Leonberg, Germany.
