Give An MX-5 Two V8 Engines, And You Get The Mazda From Hell
If there's one thing we all agree on, it's that the Mazda MX-5 is a bit of a weed when it comes to power. Sure, it's light, beautifully balanced and a fantastic weekend toy, but it won't make your body drip with adrenaline when you bury your right foot to the mat.
This MX-5 (pictured) will make your body drip with adrenaline, even with a house attached to its arse. The custom built 'Monster-est Miata' was created by serial off-roader Buddy Cook and features not one, but two V8 engines in its front-end. Together, they develop around 600bhp (est), making this one of the most powerful MX-5s we've ever come across.
Like the Lambo-engined Fiat 500 and Ferrari-powered Citroen 2CV the V16 Miata's standard set-up has undergone quite a transformation. The custom racer sits on huge drag racing wheels for starters and the suspension has been beefed up drastically to accommodate the weight and power of those engines.
And in case you missed it, the front of the car has been chopped up and lengthened ever so slightly to make room. The bonnet's been chucked too, probably to help with cooling and to prove that yes, 'my car has 2 bloody great big engines.' Take a look at the footage below if you still don't believe us...
