Four New Cars Are Coming To Gran Turismo 7 This Week

We’re pretty confident in saying that the days of consistent, monthly Gran Turismo 7 updates are over. The back end of 2024 saw two major updates in the space of five months, and December went by with nothing new. However, there’s still clearly more to come from the title – with four new cars arriving in the game this week.
We’ve had the usual batch of silhouette teasers from game creator and head of Polyphony Digital, Kazunori Yamauchi. Often these images give us a lot to ponder, but we can confidently say that two of the cars have already been confirmed for the game.
The update will be coming next week.

Front and slightly off-centre is clearly the GT F3500-A revealed at the GT World Series in December. This open-wheeler has been inspired by F1 cars of the early ‘90s and, according to in-game info, produces 773bhp while weighing just 505kg. It was suggested in the live stream of the World Series that it uses a 3.5-litre V12 engine, though that wasn’t revealed on-screen.

Next is a very different kettle of fish, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N. The EV was confirmed as coming to GT7 early in December and was another car used in the World Series finals. Those who watched the finals’ livestream through GT7 will receive the car for free, although it’ll also be purchasable through Brand Central.
It should be an entertaining thing to drive with 641bhp and 568lb ft from a dual-motor setup. The real thing certainly is – we even hailed it as the ‘first truly great performance EV’ when reviewing it last year and brought it along for our 2024 Car of The Year test.

From there, things get a little less certain. We’re fairly confident the car alongside the Hyundai is some form of crossover, with early speculation that it’s the first-generation Toyota C-HR. If so, it’s good to see Gran Turismo at its weird, usual self.
Hiding at the back looks to be a fourth-generation Honda Civic. As noted by GT Planet, the EF has only appeared in Gran Turismo previously as a Mugen Motul race car. It’s unclear which version this is, although the extruded bumper suggests the Si road car.
It remains unclear if any new tracks or additional game features will arrive alongside these four cars. We’ll know for sure ahead of the new update’s expected release on 30 January, likely arriving early morning UK time.
