The Grand Tour's Attempt At Car-To-Car Refuelling Didn't Go So Well

Remember BMW's mid-drift, M5-to-M5 refuelling trick? This similar effort from Hammond and May wasn't quite so successful...

While we all enjoyed seeing BMW’s audacious ‘mid-drift’ refuelling efforts recently, it surely would have been more entertaining to see a pair of middle-aged, hap-hazard men trying it, right?

If you agree, you’re in luck: as we can see from this new trailer, the latest episode of The Grand Tour will feature Richard Hammond and James May trying out different ways of refuelling a car without having to pull over. Amazingly though, it looks like one method actually worked.

This particular segment will surely be the highlight of the episode...

At the Eboladrome meanwhile the Lamborghini Huracan Performante is put through its paces, and Jeremy Clarkson will be taking a look at the epic battle between the Audi Quattro and Lancia 037 during the 1983 World Rally Championship. Finally, boxer Anthony Joshua and WWE’s Bill Goldberg will be the latest participants for Celebrity F-Off.

The episode will go live on Friday, or slightly before, depending on your time zone.

very smart of the producers to have Hammond drive instead on May. May would be too slow around the track and Hammond would end up filling the car with water.

I’m really looking forward to the 037 vs Quattro segment.

The Ford vs Ferrari at LeMans GT40 drive was probably my favourite Series 1 moment so if it’s anything like that, it gon’ be good!
