Kidding aside. The issue is being investigated by Mitsubishi Motors Philippines themselves and they confirmed that the Montero Sport has no issues whatsoever. I dunno. They received a lot of complaints… Poor MMPC

Volvo have been pinching Mitsubishi Power Pulse technology.

There are news about the Montero Sport recently in the Philippines that it suffers from SUA (Sudden Untintended Acceleration) but Mitsubishi themselves says that it’s the driver’s error and admits that their cars have no defect at all. I saw a Montero near our school trying to park and suddenly revved for no reason. Thankfully it wasn’t in gear.

What an idiot. Even if the car suddenly had this uncontrollable acceleration problem, he could’ve A) stepped on the brakes B) put the car in neutral C) turned the car off

Basically it is nothing more than human error. There are two types of A/T designs. One with that release button by the gear knob and the other which uses the brakes as the release. The Mitsubishi Montero Sport uses the Gear knob release just like any other A/T vehicles before. Only problem is, this time the drivers and new car owners tend to pay less attention to detail. Disregarding vehicle behavior, hence ending up in an accident. Now since the evidence of human error can be covered up by blaming it on SUA. They go for that option to avoid liabilities to the damages that they made. And so they can cash in on the manufacturer for a replacement of the vehicle that they totalled. Almost all bad drivers in the Philippines are accustomed to this practice. They live by the saying “Why admit to your mistake when you can get away with it and even get compensated.” Some people would ask, “If SUA wasn’t the problem then why would MMCPH buy back some of the units?” The answer is very simple. They need an actual unit that was reported to have been in an SUA incident for studying and investigation. Which was a very responsible thing to do for the Manufacturer. In which the company found no mechanical and electrical errors. Prompting them to release a press statement that there is nothing wrong with their units. However due to all the hype caused by a certain TV network who would do everything in its power to stand by its irresponsible reporting just like FOX news, and the complainants would rather die than admit that they were faulty drivers. They choose to continue to stand by their claim hoping that someday people would get tired and forget about the issue or that somehow they get the Manufacturer to fold down to their demands through media pressure. Which is absolutely absurd.
