This Hardcore Porsche Cayman GT4 Was Spotted Belting Around Monza

What looks to be a race-spec version of the Porsche Cayman GT4 can be seen filling Italy's Monza circuit with glorious flat-six noise

Any talk of a hardcore Cayman GT4 will inevitably lead to questions about a possible track-ready RS model, but this probably isn’t such a thing. The Cayman spotted at Monza - which is visibly lower than the road-going version we’ve been busy lusting after - looks to be sporting super sticky race tyres and a very shouty race exhaust. Which sounds incredible. Oh, and if you listen carefully, those aren’t manual shifts you’re hearing, they’re most likely the work of a sequential gearbox.

So it’s most likely a test mule for an upcoming Cayman GT4 racer, giving a more affordable entry into the world of racing Porsches than the existing 911 GT3 Cup. But there’s no reason to feel to disappointed if you were getting excited about the prospect of a Cayman GT4 RS, as judging by recent comments from the German firm, that could well be on the cards.
