Here Is The Hardcore Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series Testing Without Camouflage

After being spotted a month ago in a camouflage wrap, the upcoming AMG GT Black Series has reportedly now hit the Nurburgring in a slightly different kind of disguise

Although this isn’t the first time next year’s Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series has been spotted at the Nurburgring, it’s the first time we’ve seen the promised monster without camouflage.

It means we can get a better idea of the amount of work that goes into the Black Series’ styling – and engine cooling. The air intakes at the lower front corners are bigger than the standard AMG GT’s and there appear to be aerodynamic vents at their outside edges, too. At the back there are clearly visible additional vents behind the rear wheels, designed to take hot air away from the rear wheel arches and reduce aero drag.

But… these are already features on the AMG GT-R. As is the unmissable rear wing, which is quite steeply raked for usable downforce on track, and given how planted the car looks despite the 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 being pushed to tyre-screeching point, we can assume it works. It’s probably being piloted by a handy test driver, too.

We think it’s safe to assume that the Black Series mods are being tested in a GT R-alike shell, and we’re expecting there to be more visual differences when the car, which has been confirmed by Mercedes, finally makes its debut. The Frankfurt Motor Show in September could be the time and place.

So, when the AMG GTS came out, AMG GT owners were jealous. Then the GTR came out and the GTS owners were jealous. Then the GT3 came out and the GTR owners were jealous. Now the Black Series is coming out, all of the AMG GT/S/R/3 owners are jealous!!!!!! Lel
