Find out how a Bugatti Veyron fares against a Rimac Concept One in a straight-line drag race

After putting out a series of comparison videos featuring a Rimac Concept One and his own Bugatti Veyron, Lord Pembroke has at last released the video us simple-minded petrolheads have been wanting to see. Yep, it’s a drag race.

The Rimac driver reacts noticeably quicker than Pembroke in the Veyron, and it’s worth noting the Bugatti’s launch control system wasn’t used (the video description also states that the car’s “traction control didn’t like the minus 5 temperatures”). But even so, the less powerful Bugatti - which gives away over 100bhp to the Rimac - sticks with the Croatian electric hypercar the whole way. It’s also interesting to see the Concept One spinning its front wheels off the line.

We’d be up for seeing a rematch in better condition with a more even start, but still, it’s cool to finally see these two go head-to-head.

Growing up on a diet of World Rally Championship highlights and lengthy Gran Turismo 2 sessions, a life in cars was as good as inevitable for Matt.

Interesting how when we were 8 years old the Bugatti was everyone’s dream car, I wouldn’t be surprised if in a few years an 8 year old’s dream car could be the Rimax

What is this video supposed to show? That its possible to beat a Veyron that doesnt use launch control? Of course it is, a heavily tuned 20 year old Audi S4 could do that in a quarter mile.
