Here's A Closer Look At Nissan's Leaf Nismo Concept
Yesterday we brought you the curious/befuddling/distressing news that Nissan is officially making a Nismo version of the all-electric Leaf. Now, we’re able to see the car from every angle.
The Japanese firm has released a full set of official photos ahead of the car’s debut at the Tokyo Motor Show. Not only that, but we’ve been given a few technical details too.
Whatever you do, don’t expect Tesla levels of straight-line performance. Nissan says the car has a “custom-tuned computer that delivers instant acceleration at all speeds,” but mentions nothing else to do with power, so expect the powertrain to be largely the same as the 110kW (147bhp) ‘e-Plus’ Leaf.
It’s wearing much better tyres than before though, with 225/45/18 Continental Sport Contacts sitting on each corner. Nismo has also played around with the aero, with an actually rather decent-looking bodykit dialing down the lift without effecting the standard car’s super-slippery drag coefficient.
On the inside meanwhile there’s super sporty red stitching and a red 12 o’clock marker on the steering wheel (yes, really). Finally, the car has been given “sport-tuned suspension.” Nissan hasn’t yet said what has been changed, but we’ll take a punt at it being lower, stiffer springs, and probably not much else.
What do you think of Nismo’s latest creation? Does it make you want a Leaf any more?

“custom-tuned computer that delivers instant acceleration at all speeds,”
That doesn’t mean ‘the same 147bhp’, it means a lot more power - at 400km/h 3000bhp+ should properly do that :D
They should have made a quest nismo if they are going to make something like this
hmm, i think this calls for Klockorino’s new reaction image
So, that means it has a lower eMPG?
