Here's A Cute But Terrifying V6 Toyota MR2 With 680bhp
With a 3.5-litre turbocharged V6 mounted in the middle, this third-gen MR2 is a beastly little hill climb car
Once again, we find ourselves looking a small but very angry hill climb car. But can you blame us? This one manages to be both cute and terrifying all at the same time.
It’s a third-generation Toyota MR2, but it’s no longer powered by a 1.8-litre 1ZZ engine. In its place is a 3.5-litre 2GR V6, with a Borg Warner turbo strapped on for good measure. The result is 680bhp, which is sent to the rear wheels via a sequential gearbox.
The aggressive bodykit is from APR, while the radically overhauled suspension is littered with AST parts. It looks to be a supremely capable wee package.
This might just be our new favourite mk3 MR2…

Thanks.

Is the 2GR related to the engine in the current Exige?
