Here's How The 330bhp Mustang-Powered Ford Focus Could Look

Before you get excited: no, the upcoming Mk3 Focus RS won't have a socking great V8. It's actually expected to have the 2.3-litre Ecoboost engine that will be finding its way under the bonnet of the 2015 Mustang. And it's a good powerplant to have: in the Mustang, the turbocharged four-pot will be good for 305bhp, but a power output closer to 330bhp is rumoured for the RS Focus.

But what will this beastly hot hatch look like? We commissioned this exclusive rendering - based on the recent Focus facelift and spy shots of the RS - to give us an idea. And if the eventual production version looks anything like this, it'll be a corker.

The next Focus RS is expected to be powered by the 2015 Mustang's 2.3-litre Ecoboost engine

The RS badge also made an appearance for Ford on the Mk2 Focus RS. That car is powered by an uprated version of the Volvo-derived 2.5-litre five-pot found in the Mk2 ST. The engine's 300bhp is all channelled to the the front wheels via a clever Quaife limited slip differential, an arrangement anticipated for the Mk3 RS.
