Here’s How Assetto Corsa In Mixed Reality Compares To A Real Life Hot Lap

This incredible video compares what a Mixed Reality hot lap of the Vallelunga Circuit in a Porsche 911 Carrera S compares to the real thing, and – spoiler alert - it’s amazingly realistic.

YouTuber Marcel Pfister has done a load of these Mixed Reality videos, basically blending in the virtual environment he experiences when playing Assetto Corsa via his Virtual Reality headset.

It gives us a much more realistic and immersive look at what he’s experiencing with his Oculus Rift CV1. This video is a brilliant look at how his VR experience and Mixed Reality compares to the real thing. He’s even wearing the same clothes for consistency - how’s for attention to detail?

If you want to know more about how he creates these awesome Mixed Reality videos, check out his tutorial here.

I want almost everything there:

Want the Porsche, Want AC, want the Oculus Rift, want the steering wheel he’s using to play… Want the skills…

I even want the watch he’s using…

Forza can’t get anywhere near what AC can offer

Forza can’t be compared to the best racing simulator besides iRacing. Forza just looks good and is fun, Realism just takes a small part role.

You can use revive, and it works really well. That’s basically all I use my vive for now.

With that game, no need to buy real cars.

Yeah it´s great that you can drive very accurate in simulations now, but i still miss the day at the Porsche event though

You could tell he wasn’t taking the same lines in AC because he wanted them to around the same time. If he really wanted to show how close they were, he should have done his best lap on the game (first) and then did his best lap in real life. Still a cool video though

Well, because videos are recorded on the same day at the assetto corsa porsche event and purpose of the game is getting ready to real life experience
