Here's That McLaren 720S You're Not Supposed To See Until March
It’s all well and good doing early preview events of fancy cars for prospective customers, but these shindigs do carry with them an element of risk.
Last year one such occasion backfired for Aston Martin, with a grainy picture of the DB11 leaking out before the car’s debut at the Geneva Motor Show. The same thing has just happened to McLaren with its 650S replacement - due to be revealed at this year’s show - with an image from a super-early first look event surfacing on Instagram.
We’re not sure where the image appeared first, but just like the Aston Martin ‘incident’, it involves a hilariously bad, potato-spec image. It does give us a good look at the distinctive, sculpted aesthetic of the supercar however, revealing a fairly sizable departure from McLaren’s current line-up first hinted at in various spy shots.
Codenamed P14, it’s anticipated that the ‘Super Series’ McLaren will be called 720S. It’ll probably be powered by a development of Woking’s tried and tested 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8, thought to be putting out 720PS - hence the name.
McLaren recently revealed that the P14’s aero package will have “double the aerodynamic efficiency” of the car it’ll replace, and will include ducts in the doors to increase downforce and cool the engine.

This looks like a p1 married a konigsegg then cheated on it with an NSX and a LaFerrari and proceeded to have this, an awkward looking child
I see Huayra, a bit of Apollo, and a dab of NSX. Hmm…
Just going to wait for all the pictures come out to give final judgement
