The striking BMW 8-series concept was officially revealed only a few days ago, but a few days is a long time for some of the Internet’s more prolific car renderers. Case in point? X-Tomi Design, who’s already whipped up four different visions of potential 8-series derivatives.

First up, we have the 8-series ‘Gran Coupe’ you see above. The 6-series - which the production 8er is expected to partially replace - is actually more popular in some territories in its four-door GC configuration, so it’s highly likely something like this will be built for the 8-series line-up.

A pick-up on the other hand is quite clearly not going to happen, unless it’s an amusing one-off. But hey, there’s no harm in dreaming.

Likewise, this shooting brake - although a less preposterous prospect than the pick-up - is unlikely to ever be built. But if that’s the case, it’d be a bit of a shame - it’s a toss-up between this and the GC being the prettiest render here.

Finally, we have another ‘sure thing’, in the form of an 8-series convertible. The original 8-series never received a production convertible option (the drop-top version never made it past the prototype stage), but that isn’t expected to be the case this time around. BMW will be wanting to pilfer Mercedes S-Class Cabriolet buyers, after all.

Let us know which of these renders is your favourite in the comments, and be sure to check out more of X-Tomi’s work.

Apart for the pick up…. they all look very tempting. Especially the Shooting brake and the Grand Coupe :3

Am I the only one that thinks the pickup version kind of looks like this car?

If you don’t think that the pickup is the prettiest thing ever, then I don’t know what to say.

Very goodloooking - and a few cues to the i8 in the styling, which I think makes a lot of sense. How the two are related in the BMW line-up will be interesting
