Perhaps the biggest talking point of the race was the hailstone-infused deluge which hit part of the track, causing multiple crashes and stranding many cars on track. The race was eventually won by the Black Falcon Mercedes-AMG GT driven by Maro Engel, Bernd Schneider, Adam Christodoulou and Manuel Metzger.

Well….it was a BMW. Not using turn signals is to be expected.

and of course… the poor foxtail Manta which did so well… but retired after an engine failure. :( #Pray4Manta

That M3 was a pure beast and absolutley battle-scared. The Foxtail Manta btw had no engine failure, the clutch bell broke and they had no spare parts. Fans offered them a clutch bell but they denied it.
Audi was pretty damn slow, even though, they already won on that car last year, but it seems like didn´t work on it well since last year. BMW did fine with a brand new car. The “Jawbreaker” Walkenhorst-BMW #999 designed by JP Performance did a good performance and finished on P12, sure the #23 finished on 5th, but they didn´t have any huge problems. But you could already see, after the #18 retired, that a Mercedes would win this race.
Let´s not forget about the performance of the Bentley´s as well, finishing with both cars, one car in Top10. Sadly, again none of the SCG finished.

From what I heard the Manta was taken out of the race because the “clutch-bell” (part of the housing, I guess) was broken, and that was one of the few parts they did not have in stock.
Also, if the rules don’t change, the Manta wont be allowed to compete next year, since it’s too old then.

Are you talking about the E36 M3? Or a different one? Also how about that E34 M5 that finished in 98th ahead of a load of much newer and faster cars?

This was the most exiting race i have ever seen, i will definetly come to the ring next year.

I might be an idiot for not know this, but what’s up with the yellow headlights, blue flashing lights in the windshield and green lights on the sides?

The yellow or white headlights are to identify different classes at night. And yellow headights are said to be better in bad conditions. As for the windshield lights, I have no idea.

The Calibra is actually more and more common as a car for private teams (who have rather small budgets).
The mainstream tv/streaming-companies just don’t spend much time showing the Group 3 starters.
