Here’s The Turbocharged Aston Martin DB11 Making All The Right Noises At The Nurburgring
A disguised prototype of the DB9's replacement has been spotted undergoing testing, giving us a chance to find out if its twin-turbo, AMG-sourced V12 sounds as good as the old N/A unit
The Aston Martin DB9 has been with us 11 years now, so a replacement is a little overdue. One is on the way, however, and this Nurburgring video gives us a chance to see a prototype in action. It’ll be called the DB11, and - shock horror - it’ll feature turbochargers. Yep, Aston’s all-N/A lineup will soon be a thing of the past, with the British company sourcing Mercedes-AMG engines for its next generation of cars.
The prototype in this video seems to be runing a 6.0-litre twin-turbo V12, and while it can’t quite beat the sweet sounds made by the soon-to-be-deceased naturally-aspirated V12, we reckon it makes a jolly good din. It’s expected to be joined by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 when the car goes on sale in 2017.
