Here's What The New Four-Cylinder Jaguar F-Type Sounds Like
In case you missed the news earlier this week, Jaguar is indeed putting an F-Type into production with a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-pot under the bonnet.
With 297bhp and a 52kg drop in weight relative to the V6, you won’t be wanting for performance. In fact, to 60mph it’s actually a smidge quicker than the base six-pot. But what about noise? Well, we now have our first chance to hear the Ingenium lump in action.
We get a couple of short bursts of noise in the promotional video above (skip to around the 50sec and 1min 30sec marks if you don’t want to sit through the whole thing). It’s not enough to make a firm judgement, although it certainly sounds like Jaguar’s engineers have worked hard to extract a decent din from the uninspiring cylinder configuration.
What do you think?

Actually i don’t like the four cylinder f type, because some country will only import the four cylinder instead the v6 and the v8, in this case some country in asia
rear end looks bad why do they have to ruin the looks i get you are buying the cheap model but it doesn’t has t be ugly
I’m getting slight hints of the Forza Turbo-Rally Engine sound here; I mean, it has the same number of cylinders, and roughly equal horsepower(though only a 1.6 as opposed to a 2.0)
Like a 718 a would say… Nothing special then… :/
My n/a Bravo HGT has a better sound!
