Forza Horizon 3 is gaining a drastically different way of racing with the announcement of a new, mad-looking Hot Wheels expansion.

It brings a load of crazy Hot Wheels cars and tracks to the open-world racing game, adding an arcade-focused and even more manic, fast-paced side to FH3.

The new DLC is the second major expansion after the snowy Blizzard Mountain, debuting a new location in Australia.

Hot Wheels features six new themed islands off the coast of Australia, all connected by a series of new tracks full of loops, jumps, corkscrews and banked turns.

Alongside the pre-made circuits in the Hot Wheels expansion, there’s also a new Stunt Swap feature where you can modify stunt sections and send them to your mates.

It’s a whole new element for FH3, with added arcade-like additions such as boost pads, half-pipes and jumps to tackle. There’s even giant mechanical dinosaurs, for anyone interested.

The expansion comes with a new campaign, letting you complete events and work your way up to the Grand Finale at the huge Hot Wheels Goliath circuit.

You can, of course, tackle the Hot Wheels cars and tracks in multiplayer mode with your friends for chaos-filled online racing and a new skills-focused Playground Area.

Speaking of cars, it comes with 10 new ones, including some of the most famous Hot Wheels machines. One’s a mystery Barn Find, but here are the other nine cars confirmed:

  • 1969 Hot Wheels Twin Mill
  • 2011 Hot Wheels Bone Shaker
  • 2012 Hot Wheels Rip Rod
  • 2005 Hot Wheels Ford Mustan
  • 2016 Jeep Trailcat
  • 2016 Zenvo ST1
  • 2007 Toyota Hilux Arctic Trucks AT38
  • 2010 Pagani Zonda R
  • 1972 Chrysler VH Valiant Charger R/T E49

The DLC comes out on 9 May for Xbox One and Windows PC, and is $20 (£16) as a standalone purchase or $35 (£27) as part of the FH3 Expansion Pass, which also includes Blizzard Mountain.

There’s also a new update for Windows 10 players, including better support for popular driving wheels, CPU performance improvements, and added graphical options.

Driven to Drive 1

Sorry to be that one guy, but I would’ve preferred the inclusion of a real racetrack on the map like Bathurst. It would be super fun to drive out to a real track and casually race.
