The Hotly-Anticipated 2015 Mazda MX-5 Is Underneath This Thin Sheet

This is our first teaser look at the fourth generation of the venerable Mazda MX-5. The new two-seater sports car will be revealed in full on 3rd September and will feature a weight reduction of approximately 100kg compared with its third-gen predecessor.

The image above - as featured in our renderings earlier this year - show what the car could look like based on the brand’s ‘KODO - Soul of Motion’ design language.

The teaser image reveals a fairly long bonnet, which points at Mazda’s usage of its SkyActiv engines for the new MX-5; these engines feature a long four-into-one exhaust manifold.

Whether or not the new roadster’s look will find favour with petrolheads remains to be seen, but one thing’s for sure, the fourth-generation MX-5 will be one of this year’s most important new cars.
