How Do You Make A PT Cruiser Cool? Give It A V10 Viper Engine, Of Course
Can a whacking great engine with monstrous power save the reputation of one of the most laughed-at cars ever?
Chrysler's PT Cruiser (or Pity Cruiser, to some American gearheads) has been called out for being the bad side of retro design, badly built, and naff to drive. It's ripe for a mighty engine swap: something to give a car with a wicked grinning face something to smile about. So how's this?
Packing an 8.3-litre V10 under the bonnet from a Dodge SRT10 Viper, this 500bhp PT has also had its lumpy body sorted with a pick-up conversion, ride height drop and split-rim alloys. There's even a side-exit exhaust!
Makes you wonder, just how much fun can you have with a Viper chassis..? Quite a lot, as it turns out, especially if you use it as the world's fastest go-kart...
