How Do You Score New Top Gear Out Of 10?

New Top Gear aired last night at 8pm in the UK, and unsurprisingly, it's been a massive talking point (both good and bad). So my question to you now is this: how did you rate it out of 10?

Take a look at your Top Gear comments in this TG mega thread.

I switched it off half way through, so I really can’t rate fairly. Thought it wasn’t as bad as everyone thought, but that doesn’t mean it was good either.
Some points:
Evans is forced as well as being a Clarkson tribute act.
LeBlanc was far and away the star of the show, with some good dry wit and comical lines, however he cannot be expected to pick up the massive Chris Evans slack.
The cars were a bit meh, Vipers been the same car for 20 odd years, Vette the same. (This is NOT a dig at the fans of these two cars)

Don’t have high hopes for this show at all.

TLDR: It was meh.

The top gear extra is the best part, its such a shame its only there to milk out the money for the one season it will be

Extra Gear was so much better than Top Gear.

I’d say 4/10 - ONLY due to Matt LeBlanc. If it wasn’t for LeBlanc, I’d say that the show was -1,000,000,000/10.

The first episode was eh for me. I liked the challenges and LeBlanc’s parts, but Chris Evans’ parts felt forced and annoying. I also don’t like the constant references to the old show. Overall, I would give it a 5/10.

Tbh as a car show it was pretty good. It was factual and entertaining. I would give it a 7/10. But if you take into account that it is living in Jeremy, Richard, and Jame’s shadow, it gets a 4/10.

Chris Evans is trying too hard. Honestly, his voice overs for de films are alright, but the studio bits are just awefull. Dancing around, exagerating every move he makes, shouting and creating drama. Not to mention the fact you hear that every sentence he says has been practised and learned by heart. Nothing spontaneous, just reading out loud the script. Same with the jokes they make, it’s too obvious. Ditch Evans as a studio presenter and bring Harris in instead.

What I also don’t like is the fact that it’s not really a revamp, more of a poor immitation of the old show. Same style of studio, same segments, same table and chairs. Not to mention the fact that Evans is trying to immitate Clarkson, especially in the intro. Be yourself like Matt, he doesn’t immitate one of the old presenters.

However I was pleasantly surprised by the content. Not as original as I hoped, but it was funny and well thought out. Also I liked the fact they replaced the reasonably priced car with a rally car. The reasonably priced car was an old joke, I’m glad they didn’t try to immitate it but came up with their own version of it. I hope to see some more original challenges in the next episodes, these were just ripp-offs from other challenges of the old top gear. Viper-vette fight vs. dogfight with fighter planes on the last american roadtrip. Climb to top of the hill vs. offroad mobility scooter challenge.

The table was a V8. The old one was a V12.
