Battered by controversy and outrage, Hyundai has unreservedly apologised for its 'offensive viral video,' which depicts a man attempting suicide in one of its cars.

Track day social media account manager and marketing executive Hannah Burgess - who lost both of her parents to suicide - contacted us yesterday. Here is her story and reaction to the viral ad, which "made me feel sick."

In a statement, Hyundai Europe said the following:

“We understand that some people may have found the iX35 video offensive. We are very sorry if we have offended anyone. We have taken the video down and have no intention of using it in any of our advertising or marketing.”

Let this be a hard-learned lesson for all advertising agencies.
