If The Biopic Rumours Are True, Robert De Niro Playing Enzo Ferrari Is An Awesome Casting Choice

Just for a moment, picture legendary actor Robert De Niro in your head. Now imagine him masquerading as Enzo Ferrari, complete with the trademark shades. Just looks right, no? Well, if you like the idea of the Hollywood veteran portraying such a fascinating character, we’ve got good news: speaking to Italian publication Il Messaggero, De Niro reported that he’s signed up to play il Commendatore in an upcoming biopic.

The film will be called Ferrari, and will cover the life of Enzo - founder of Scuderia Ferrari and the associated road car effort we all know and love - from 1945 into the 1980s. He died in 1988 at the age of 90.

There’s little in the way of solid information at this stage, although there is talk of Clint Eastwood directing. Should all this go ahead, it’d be in theatres next year.
