The wraps were taken off the 2016 Camaro only a few days ago, but already the Internet’s car renderers are starting to go to town on Chevy’s new pony. In fact, X-Tomi Design has come out with two renders based on the new car: one depicting the next Z/28, and another of the inevitable convertible Camaro.

Naturally, it’s the Z/28 we’re interested in most. After all, the current one packs a 505bhp 7.0-litre V8 and is stuffed full of clever tech to make it a force to be reckoned with on the track. There’s no official line on the spec for the next Z/28 (the car itself hasn’t yet been confirmed, but it’s almost certainly going to happen), but with the sixth-gen Camaro being around 130kg lighter than the old one, the car’s designers will have a much better starting point to make it sharper than ever. And as we can see from this render, the crisper design of the sixth-gen car doesn’t half look good with a butch makeover.

Regardless of our preferences, the convertible should be a fine-looking thing too, as the above image proves. And we know the car sounds great in V8 form from recent testing footage, and the V6 is particularly raucous, so getting closer to dat noise by lopping the roof off is an enticing prospect.
