If You're Going To Crash, Make Sure It's In The 99% NCAP-Rated Mazda CX-30

Based on crash test data, the Mazda CX-30 is the safest car you can have an accident in. The crossover scored 99 per cent in the Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) segment of its Euro NCAP trial, the highest rating ever given by the organisation.

This means the CX-30 has beaten not one but two cars from Volvo, with the V40 and XC60 being among only a handful of cars to have achieved an AOP score of 98 per cent. ‘Safer than a Volvo’ seems like a pretty big selling point, no?

The CX-30 was given maximum points in the full-width barrier, side-impact and side pole tests. The latter is billed as Euro NCAP’s “most severe” test, intended to simulate a car leaving the road and hitting a tree or pole.

The car was rated 86 per cent in the Child Occupant category, 80 per cent in Vulnerable Road Users and 70 per cent in Safety Assist. The results contributed to a five-star overall NCAP rating.
Matthew Avery, head of insurance research at Thatcham Research, said:

“This is a truly impressive result. The Mazda CX-30 is a mainstream vehicle, available at an affordable price point, performing at the highest level in impact testing. In the event of an accident, there are few safer places to be than the front seats of the Mazda CX-30.”

Tesla just looks big on the outside and has a rich owner/CEO. Mazda has been in the game for a long time and is very big

Yeah but… the CX30 is just a 3 with plastic trim and higher ride height. Probably.

Proof that you can excel in making a modern car safe while making it look reasonably good. Try harder, literally every other manufacturer

Guys… if any of you struggle to find this as impressive as it really is… the windshield didn’t crack. Not even in the side impact test.
Imagine lauching your car towards another at 60kph and the windshield doesn’t even crack.
