I'm looking at changing my tires to something more performance oriented soon. Does anyone have any recommendations?
I’m currently running 245 40 18 Contintentals, but they just don’t have the grip I’d like.

For a cheap tire, I run Champiro UHP1s. They grip surprisingly well!
I know a couple of people that ran them for a set, and one of them… they started perishing before 10,000 miles. Not wearing out, the rubber actually started cracking.
The other guy crashed his car and wrote it off. Pretty sure it wasn’t the tires fault though…
Pilot Super Sports. It’s the best answer for grippy tires.
If you want something cheaper, B.F Goodrich Sport COMP-2’s are excellent. In fact, I just put some on my project car.
I can second Michelin PSS being a great tire
I am running Pilot Sport AS/3’s a close cousin to the Super Sports, great tires either way you go. Tons of grip, very little road noise, long lasting as well. Totally worth the money.
Yeah same on the Goodrich tires. Have them on my car and they feel nice and look nice ;)
P Zeros maybe ?
they are good tires but they wear out more quickly if you drive them hard then some other performance tires. also they are pretty expensive
MIchelin PS3s or PSSs if you have money to blow, they’re simply the best.
I reccommend either Perrelli Asymetrical Eagle F1’s for superior grip or Michelin Pilot Sport 3’s for better all round grip in different types of weather and better longevity. Both are nice and soft with loads of grip and won;t break the bank. Seeing as we’re coming into summer I might be tempted to put the Eagle F1’s back on my ST! They really were fantastic tires.

I can really recommend the Federal 595-RSR. It´s good value for price and even on rainy conditions it´s quite good. And it is not a very expensive tire, so it doesn´t hurt as much when you give it a try.
Made a too long comment, had to make a separate post.

Depends on what you plan to do. If you plan to track only, then R888/A048. If you plan to track often but keep decent onroad performance, then AD08/Direzza/Pilot Sport Cup2.
If no track but dry performance : Pilot Super Sport.
If on a daily, that will have to drive on the wet, then definitely Pilot Sport 4. I run Pilot Sport 3 on my A3 and it’s the best i’ve seen in a long time and way better than the ContiSportContact5 that were on it from the factory. And the Pilot Sport 4 were described as better in every way + very good looking as the Pilot Sport 3 are nothing but ugly. Was running Potenza S001 on my Golf, they look nice and are pretty grippy but they began to decline after only 5000 km + very hard ride.
I use Michelin Pilot Super Sports but I switch it up with Pirelli P-Zeros occasionally. Michelin PSSes are more consistent but P-Zeros grip like crazy the first few thousand km then drop off hard.
