Incredible Behind The Scenes Footage Shows How A Tesla Model S Is Made
The Tesla Model S is an incredibly advanced vehicle. The four-door, fully electric luxury super saloon produces as much as 416bhp and 443lb ft of torque (in 85kWh Performance Signature spec), which is enough to launch the S to 62mph in just 4.2sec. Not bad for a car that tips the scales at over 2 tonnes.
Constructed mainly from aluminium, the Model S is extremely stiff and dynamically very capable, but this isn't the most impressive part of its construction. No, the most impressive part starts in the factory, where massive sheets of aluminium are unrolled, pressed, laser-cut and put in place by an army of equally advanced robots. Robots even put the seats in the S and fit the car's windows, and are also able to change their attached tools and move from one end of the factory to the other independently.
It really is a sight to behold and will - if you don't already - make you fully appreciate the advances of the Tesla brand.
