Infiniti Has Built A Bot To Compare Its Hottest Q60 To Other Cars And You Can Talk To It

In what is either genius or madness, Infiniti USA has developed an artificial intelligence bot that people can ask for acceleration comparisons against 400 other Motor Trend-tested cars

Want to know how fast your Infiniti Q60 Red Sport 400 is versus 400 other cars as tested in the real world by a motor magazine? Well, no, because you probably don’t actually own a Q60, but Infiniti in the US has come up with a cool artificial intelligence bot to let you compare the Red Sport 400 version of the car anyway.

Infiniti has gained access to 400 cars from Motor Trend’s database, and the bot, which you have to chat with via Facebook Messenger, can access and compare times from those cars along with a snappy one-line explanation. Simply type in a car make and model and it will either respond with a result or give you the nearest alternatives.

Among the responses we got were “Buick’s big SUV takes over 7s to get up to 60MPH. Q60 most definitely does not,” and “not enough pick-up to keep up with Q60” for the Honda Ridgeline AWD.

It doesn’t always work, though, as with this one comparing the 400bhp Q60 to an M3. Despite the Q60 being two tenths slower to 60mph, the bot states that the Infiniti wins.

Have a play with it and see whether there the bot can deliver any funny responses. Is it as entertaining as Siri? I guess we’ll find out…

I wonder what the bot says when it’s asked about how fast it is against the Q50 Eau Rouge… Oh wait…

I’m not, tbh. It didn’t recognise one of the company’s own concept-but-was-meant-to-be-put-into-production-but-got-cancelled cars.
