An Interesting Update From The Sinkhole Corvette Museum

Remember when a massive sinkhole struck the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky? It swallowed eight precious Corvettes in February last year, causing many of us petrolheads to recoil in sadness.

But all was not lost, as good guy GM revealed that it was going to donate $250,000 to help with the restoration of three of the damaged cars.

Away from the stricken vehicles, attention turned to the sinkhole. The original plan was to preserve the damage caused by the natural disaster, but money and red tape meant that plans had to be abandoned.

Work is therefore underway to fill the sinkhole, which is no mean feat; concrete plugs had to be made, and a variety of high-strength materials were used to ensure that the hole would not worsen.

To explain the process, here is project manager Zach Massey with an update. If all goes to plan, the hole will be filled by the end of January.
