It Took Only 1 Hour For A Porsche To Catch Flames And Take Out 2 Prototypes

The Safety Car was deployed just after the first hour at Le Mans, because the #92 Porsche of Patrick Pilet had a drivetrain problem, spun, went up in flames ansd caused an LMP1 car to collide with an LMP2

The #92 GTE Pro Porsche had a drivetrain issue at the first Mulsanne chicane as the opening hour of the 83rd Le Mans 24 Hours concluded. Patrick Pilet spun in front of the #13 LMP! Rebellion and #42 LMP2 Strakka Racing machines. The two collided, with the Porsche dropping oil as it pulled off on the Mulsanne straight and burst into flames.

Everyone was okay and the Safety Car was deployed. The two prototypes cars pitted for repairs and rejoined, but the Porsche is out of the race. The #7 Audi currently holds the overall lead, after just under two and a half hours of the race.
