It Took Only 891 Miles For A Guy's 2015 Corvette Z06 Engine To Blow Up
An unlucky Corvette Z06 owner has reported the death of his engine after only 891 miles on the clock. The incident - which happened last Friday - occured when Corvette forum member Lawdogg149 was driving to put more miles on the clock in preparation for a track day event in January.
According to owner Lawdogg:
While making a pull from 35mph I accelerated and shifted short of redline, and boom. Car began knocking. I pulled over and popped hood. Could hear a loud knock coming from #6 cylinder area along with a serious grinding metal on metal sound coming from the supercharger area.
After speaking with the Corvette dealer, the decision was made to replace the engine - he also had the option of having the original engine repaired.
This process will, of course, take many weeks to complete (shipping and fitting isn’t quick) so you can be certain that Lawdogg’s planned track day will have been postoned.
