John Cena Has Apologised To Ford And Settled Over GT Sale Lawsuit
All has not been well between Ford and that guy from the memes John Cena. The WWE star found himself on the receiving end of a lawsuit from the Blue Oval, having sold his GT supercar just two weeks after taking delivery, breaking the 24-month no-sale period aimed at combating flippers.
Cena’s lawyers had previously asserted that the man had done nothing wrong, claiming the clause wasn’t in the final contract. Now though, Cena has reached a settlement with Ford.
In a statement from the 41-year-old’s legal team sent to Jalopnik, he said that “I love the Ford GT and apologize to Ford, and encourage others who own the car to respect the contract,” adding, “I am pleased we could resolve this matter outside of court, and that a worthy charity will benefit from one of the most iconic cars in the world.”
The amount of the settlement is not known.
A few weeks ago it emerged the dealer which sold the car on - New Autos Inc - is also subject to legal action from Ford. The car company attempted to stop New Autos from selling it, although the Chico, California-based establishment has said that the car came and went some weeks before it had been contacted by Ford.
Ford is seeking damages, court costs and the return of the car itself.

Maybe the car is not as good as they want him to advertise and that last sentence was just made so FORD shuts up.
Slightly off topic, but on a ‘Behind The Glass’ podcast some time ago, Sam brought up the idea that car manufacturers shouldn’t say how many special edition cars are to be produced. This, in theory, would help stop flippers from jacking up the prices after taking delivery. Because nobody knows how rare they are.

Even with the potential to make profit off of it, why would you want to sell it? It’s a Ford GT for Christ’s sake!! If I ever had the opportunity to own that car it would be driven everywhere and would have a spot in my house. Sick of these millionaires not appreciating the cars for what they are made for and just seeing them as investments
