Kimi Raikkonen’s second practice session at the Circuit de Monaco hadn’t gone to plan. Wet weather meant all 22 drivers had to sit out most of the session and the Finn then suffered a gearbox failure, which meant he missed out on dry running in the closing stages.

His day was saved from getting even worse by Red Bull Racing team member Nigel Hope, who was forced to move the ‘Iceman’ out of the way before he got run over by Sebastian Vettel, who was leaving his pit box.
