Koenigsegg's 1341hp Veyron Killing One:1 Is Finally Here
After various leaks and teasers, Koenigsegg's incredible One:1 has at last been unveiled. So called because it has a 1:1 power to weight ratio, this Koenigsegg's 5.0-litre twin-turbo V8 kicks out an unhinged 1341hp (1322bhp), to haul around - you guessed it - 1341kg. Torque, meanwhile, is at 1011lb/ft. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual clutch gearbox.
A figure of 0-62mph in 2.6 seconds has been previously thrown about, but it's the expected 0-248mph (400kmh) time that's truly astonishing, at just 20 seconds. A top speed of 280mph was expected, but the tyres here are the limiting factor. The One:1's boots are custom Michelin Cup hoops, but they're limited to only 273mph...
This is no point-and-squirt machine either, Koenigsegg is keen to downplay the top speed and insists this is a track car at heart. The car is littered with active aero devices, notably that giant rear wing. At 160mph, you'll get a huge 610kg of downforce, while in the corners it'll be able to generate a face-shredding 2G.
It has Koenigsegg's trick Triplex suspension system, which features three active shock absorbers at the rear. The springs, meanwhile, are carbon.
Even if you could afford this thing (no official figures have been revealed, though over £1.5 million has been rumoured), we have some bad news: only six are being made, and all are sold.
The are a plethora of diagrams in the staggeringly large press release, particularly focusing on aerodynamics, which we've posted below. Should you want to geek out on the incredible technical detail, click the image for a larger version.
