Ladies and Gentleman, introducing Worst Car Ever

If you tend to bash over some cars, prepare yourself for Chatenet. This is something called Microcar. Basicly idea for this thing is, to make smallest car possible so teenagers can drive it. Some do it right (Aixam), some not really…
Visually, Chatenet is mix of many different cars. Overall concept reminds of Mini, but details may remind you such cars like Opel Adam or (not kidding) Ferrari FF. Meanwhile interior is mix of Opel Adam and Previous Maserati Granturismo. They really try to establish Chatenet as this luxury gadget…
So, you aproach the car, and try to open it. But when you touch the handle you realise something - its useless! You cant open Chatenet like your typical car. You have to switch really some cheap silver stick, hidden behind the handle to open the car. Its basicly like opening the outhouse.
Then you sit inside. And the first thing you’ll do, will be propably sliding of the seat, towards gearbox stick. These arent your typical car seats - they are more like really bad chairs, with no lateral, and made of some kind of not melting ice. Its rather hard to find comfortable position behind steering wheel.
Car weighs only 500 kg, even less. That means that its really easy to slam the door into the car by overestimating force needed to close the door quietly. It also means that quality of interior is ridicolous. Steering wheel is unpleasant to touch, speedmeter looks like it wants to jump of the dashboard… oh, and speaking of jumping of the dashboard, air vents are literally doing so - they are moving in the openings, and by a little forcing, you can literally pull them of!
Chatenet heart is 50 hp little engine. I believe it can drive about 60 km/h, but I think I may be too scared to test it. After all, I may slide of the driver chair and die, or car may dismember and I can die even harder.
And now, the best part - in Poland you can pay 60.000 PLN for Chatenet. Its around 20.000 $. With such an offer, I think I would rather choose Smart. That would be rather silly decision…

I was in a Aixam once and that thing wasn’t exactly brilliant either.. the whole thing wobbles when you get into it
Sounds like a bad ride! Think you could add in some more pictures between the writing to break up the text?
Well, I was writing from phone, so I couldnt add more than one picture. But thanks for advice, I’ll try to keep it in mind in future posts.
Honestly though, is it a bad car based on the world or cars, or a bad car based on Poland built and designed cars? I have seen the FSO syrena, and that to me is a terrible Polish car.. If you compare the two, which would you rather have? Personally i think this looks pretty good in comparison..
Also, 60K PLN is 14,928USD, so honestly what other City car’s could i get for 15K new?
I think that more on the world of cars. I’m actually first to admit that Polish motorisation is not really impressive, compared to rest of the world - as for now the only think we can be proud of, is Arrinera, and it’s not even in production yet. But in comparison, I would rather take FSO Syrena - it feels more like a real car, I don’t have this feeling like the car will break if wind will blow a little more.
And if it goes about 15K new city car, you can actually choose from plenty of new city cars - at least in Poland. You can buy Kia Picanto, which at this point will have really luxury equipment, including heated steering wheel and leather seats (which are also heated). You can also buy Renault Twingo - little RWD hatchback, propably the only one on the market, except Smart. And speaking of Smart - you can afford it too! It want have as much equipment as Twingo, but it will be new. And my favorite - Fiat Tipo for 49.000 PLN, which is basicly rival for VW Golf, with great equipment options, at this point. And I’m not even mentioning a lot of Tipo-like cars - cheap, but attractive enough, so they are great deal. Of course I’m speaking of Polish Market, I’m not in US (yet), but I believe price tags arent that different in there. In fact, I heard, cars are even cheaper, I saw some Camaros for around 20.000$ back in a days of 2007/2008, but I’m not really sure as for now…
Horrible
In Finland we don’t even call these cars. You can get a license for a “mcar” or a “box” at the age of 15. The hate for these is massive. They’re slowing down the traffic and all that. I am 16 and drive a 4stroke chinese scooter and i’m happy.
It’s instead of a moped for god sakes! Compared to a moped it’s pretty dam good.
is it chinese ? dosent poland use the euro ?
Nope, we still use PLN. And I suspect this “car” is actually french, but Im not sure…
It only have 5.4bhp and 14nm of torque , in a 505cc lombardini or a 523cc yanmar
i actually love this car.
