It goes without saying that a petrol station probably isn’t the best place to have a smoke. However, after apparently being refused a cigarette when asking a motorist busy filling his car at a Jerusalem fuel station, this woman retaliated rather harshly. Using a lighter, she ignited the fuel vapour around the nozzle of the pump - which was in the man’s car at the time. Ironically, he made the situation worse by (with - no doubt - good intentions) removing the nozzle and spilling fuel which instantly went up in flames. Had he left it in, only the vapour around the pump would have burned.

Although his brother was in the car at the time, no injuries were reported, and the fire was quickly extinguished by the fuel station’s staff. The woman was arrested, although has denied starting this rather unnecessary inferno.
